Supplementary Cup - Quarter Final
Worthys U11 1
Barton Stacey U11 3

Report

Finally after two cancellations Toast sponsored Barton Stacey travelled to second placed Worthy Youth  in the Supplementary Cup on a blustery day which meant a tough challenge away from home. Worthies who play in the division below started well but chances were few and far between, with  Barton Stacey certainly having  the better of the chances.  The Worthies keeper made some excellent saves from the returning Dean Pitman with Callum Giles also working the Worthies keeper after good work from Jordan Blackmore. Barton Stacey’s pressure soon told and  took the lead from a well worked corner with the ball rebounding in off a Worthy player. Cameron Proctor had to be replaced after a ball in his face by Arlos Matley who started the move for Barton’s second goal. Five minutes later Barton Stacey went two up with a corner taking from Callum Giles flying straight into the net. Worthies responded well and soon reduced the deficit after a well worked move and good finish. Barton Stacey started the second half against a strong wind and struggled to get out of there half but with some resolute defending kept the worthies to long range shots. Liam Bean and Cameron Proctor worked tirelessly in midfield during the second half preventing Worthies playing there style of football.  Worthies gave a free-kick away mid-way through the second half resulting in Barton Stacey’s third and decisive goal. Callum Giles floated the free kick into the penalty area and Adam Woods making a darting run into the box slide the ball pass the advancing keeper. Barton Stacey’s keeper Lennie Sims along with Thomas Oliver and George Draper at the heart of the defence kept Worthies to limited chances.
