Tidworth Tournament U10’s Champions

A great day was had at this year’s festival as Raymond Brown sponsored Barton Stacey met teams from Tidworth, Durrington and Wolverdene in their 5 pool matches. They got off to a confident start winning the first two games 2-0 and 3-1 with Ciaran Murphy Cooper, Joey Maggs, Max Deamer Warrington and Joe Mills all claiming a place on the score sheet. Adam Woods was strong and fast in midfield and Ben Ferris made some powerful, game saving tackles in defence. Barton then went one goal down against Tidworth Royals but grim determination gained them the equaliser in the last minute of the game. After losing to Wolverdene in the pool stage, they had to face them again in the final.

Initially the game was played in the Barton half, and keeper Connor Murphy Cooper was called on to make a crucial save. Then Barton took the game to them and were rewarded with the tournament winning goal.
